Romantic and Inexpensive Date Night Ideas

There are many ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day without breaking the bank.  Express your love with these inexpensive date night ideas while enjoying the comfort of home.

Cook A Special Dinner Together:  Not only is cooking at home often cheaper than dining out, it’s a great way to bond and spend quality time together. Recreate the meal you shared on your first date or favorite anniversary dinner. Whether you dress up for a fancy dinner at the dining room table or keep it casual with a picnic on the living room floor, quality time in the kitchen can be healthy for any relationship.

Movie Marathon: Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to snuggle under a blanket together and watch your favorite romantic flicks.  Make the movie night extra special by preparing some Valentine’s Day themed movie snacks, like heart-shaped cookies or chocolate covered pretzels and strawberries.

R & R: Refresh and rejuvenate by creating a DIY home spa on Valentine’s Day!  Light some candles and take turns giving each other an aromatherapy massage using essential oils.  Or give each other manicures and/or pedicures and afterwards recharge with a healthy strawberry smoothie for two.

ReminisceGather up all your photos albums and other mementos. Look back at pictures from your dates, family events and other major milestones to remind you of all the good times you’ve shared together.

Cheese & Wine Sampling: Treat your palettes to some imported cheeses and wine by hosting an at-home sampling for two. Make sure to try a variety of new flavors and types so you can discover new favorites!

Plan Ahead: Do you and your loved one sometimes find yourselves wondering what to do on the weekends?  Get a jumpstart by making a bucket list together! Whether playing tourist in your own town, revisiting your favorite spots or planning your next big trip, have fun creating future events to look forward to.

There are so many ways to show your loved one how much you care for him or her while enjoying the simplicity of a romantic evening at home. As they say, it really doesn’t matter what you do — as long as you are spending quality time together.
